Educational Program and Objectives

Our mission is grounded in the development of comprehensive educational programs within the NeuroMuscular Taping Institute. We aim to ensure thorough comprehension and mastery of this technique among healthcare professionals, empowering them with superior skills. Codified therapeutic procedures are integrated into hospital and clinic settings to promote functional recovery, rehabilitation, and enhance quality of life care.

Continuing Education Programs

Aligned with stringent requirements from medical organizations and regulatory bodies, our commitment to continuous quality improvement enables hospitals and clinics to achieve the highest standards possible through NeuroMuscular Taping.

Individual Certification Process

Participants in our courses gain essential skills to effectively apply the NeuroMuscular Taping Method, achieving targeted outcomes. Through structured program modules, hands-on applications, and rigorous examination processes, therapists are guided in treatment guidelines to optimize learning. Each certification includes details such as the participant’s name, date, personal photograph, international code number, authorized and certified education provider, name of instructor, course attendance location, and list of certified treatment protocols learned and examined during the course. Additional documentation covers exam results, examiner comments, extended lists of certified treatment protocols for multiple programs, patient feedback, and insurance company comments, all meticulously recorded for review.

Hospital and Clinic Certification Process

Clinics and hospitals can earn a NeuroMuscular Taping Clinical Achievement Award and Clinical Certification upon 80% of their rehabilitation staff completing individual certifications in desired therapeutic areas. This ongoing recertification process ensures staff are continually updated and proficient, contributing to achieving targeted outcomes. Certification details, including the hospital or clinic’s name and achievements, are publicly available on our site.

Certification Cancellation

Individual certifications may be revoked if treatment protocols are incorrectly followed or misused, or if professional status is lost. Similarly, provider or teacher certifications may be canceled due to non-compliance with treatment guidelines or professional misconduct. Our certification process supplements professional requirements and emphasizes continuing education in the field.

Specialization Training Series

Our specialized training programs delve deep into the fundamentals and advancements of NeuroMuscular Taping, offering guided instruction in specific treatment areas. Participants gain comprehensive insights into anatomy, lymphatic and vascular pathways, and physiology, forming the theoretical foundation for this innovative taping method. Led by certified instructors, these courses clarify the NMT system through practical application procedures, treatment protocols, case studies, and research, equipping practitioners with immediate and effective clinical tools. Participants acquire advanced skills and qualifications, enhancing their proficiency in utilizing NeuroMuscular Taping across diverse healthcare settings.

By fostering excellence in rehabilitation through education and certification, the NeuroMuscular Taping Institute remains at the forefront of advancing therapeutic outcomes worldwide.

Not all taping methods are the same - Are You NMT Trained?

At times, there is a misconception that Kinesiology taping, Kinesio taping, and NeuroMuscular taping are synonymous, reflecting a limited grasp of the underlying methods and techniques. However, what sets these various taping approaches apart?

The NeuroMuscular Taping technique introduces a distinctive concept centered around decompression and dilation methodology, distinguishing it from other forms of kinesiology taping and bandaging. Originating in Italy in 2003, and created by David Blow, this novel taping approach, known as NMT, enhances the process of clinical reasoning. Its foundation lies in specific decompression taping applications, which form the core of this innovative rehabilitation method. Precise application of this technique proves effective in alleviating pain, addressing sports-related injuries, reducing muscle tension, and concurrently enhancing athletic performance, rehabilitation, as well as outcomes in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.

NMT Enhancement therapy for mobility disorders, learning disorders, improving cognitive function, postural correction, orthopedics, trauma and neurological rehabilitation treatment.

“All treatment protocols in Pediatrics uses a decompression method to reduce spasticity and enhance muscle tone and coordination to facilitate normal movement patterns”

– explains David Blow –

“the correct use of the tape is to create dilation that will improve blood flow and lymphatic drainage. This is the key in a progressive rehabilitation approach”

NMT Methodology | Parkinsons Rehabilitation Training

NeuroMuscular Taping treatment enhancement methodologies for Parkinson’s. This course provided by the NeuroMuscular Taping Institute allow the participant to acquire the necessary manual skills and techniques of this innovative method, used to manage patient’s recovery from acute, post-acute and function phases in neurological trauma and neurological degenerative diseases. The applications that are covered are commonly used during the various stages of rehabilitation, following a clear methodology aimed to remove the congestion of body fluids, improve blood circulation, reduce muscle spasticity, reduce muscle tension and musculoskeletal pain and treat the origins of neuropathologic pain. Correct applications will improve the contraction/elasticity ratio, increase and improve joint mobility and neuro-muscular coordination.

NMT Methodology is elastic decompression taping

NeuroMuscular Taping methodology is a non-stretched tape applied over the skin in an extended position resulting in a decompressive taping definition. NeuroMuscular taping refers to a specific decompressive taping application techniques which originated in the early 2000’s in Italy. This NMT taping system is characterized by resulting skin wrinkling, skin folds or skin undulations. Also this taping application creates various types of skin, muscle, joint, sensory, vascular and tactile stimulation under study over the last decade. Taping is not just taping. Understand the differences between the 2 significantly different types of taping and opposing methodologies.

Progetto NMT Volontariato.

NeuroMuscular Taping BADMINTON Training Programs

Importance of NeuroMuscular Taping for Badminton Athletic Preparation and Strength Development

According to the NACA wellness Center, strength can be categorised in a number of ways:

  • Absolute strength refers to the maximum amount of force a muscle or a muscle group can develop
  • Strength endurance refers to the ability to perform a high volume of sub-maximal contractions without fatigue
  • Speed strength, which is better known as power, is strength expressed at speed.

The low inertia of the shuttlecock and the light weight of the racquets means that badminton has a relatively low requirement for Absolute strength. However, the performance of players on court will benefit from increased strength endurance and speed strength.
