We’re excited to announce the NMT® Training and Support Project at the Lavaredo Ultra Trail 2025, one of the world’s most iconic endurance races held in the breathtaking Dolomites. From June 26–28 in Cortina d’Ampezzo, certified NeuroMuscular Taping professionals will provide biomechanical and fascial stimulation support to elite trail runners tackling 120 km of extreme terrain. This project merges high-level sports medicine, injury prevention, and hands-on training in a real-world performance environment.
Now in its 14th edition, this initiative is not only a valuable clinical experience but also a unique opportunity to collaborate directly with medical teams in an internationally renowned sporting event. With a focus on recovery, mobility enhancement, and non-invasive interventions, the project is a model of how NeuroMuscular Taping can improve athletic resilience in high-demand settings. Applications are now open to certified professionals ready to make a difference on and off the trail.
Background and History of the Event
The Lavaredo Ultra Trail (LUT) is one of the most prestigious ultra trail running competitions in the world, attracting over 5,000 athletes annually from every continent. Founded in 2007, the LUT takes place in the breathtaking scenery of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with both start and finish in the renowned tourist destination of Cortina d’Ampezzo, host of the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The main running event, the Lavaredo 120K, spans 120 km with 5,800 meters of elevation gain, requiring top-level physical preparation, mountain experience, and adaptability to extreme weather conditions (ranging from -5°C to +30°C).
Objectives of the NMT® Training Project
Since 2011, the NeuroMuscular Taping team has provided specialised support during the LUT through a training/operational project recognised in the fields of sports medicine and injury prevention in trail running. Main Objectives cover:
- Provide biomechanical assistance before and during the race through NeuroMuscular Taping application
- Reduce muscular load and risks arising from past injuries or functional overload
- Promote the use of neurosensory fascial stimulation techniques
- Support the official medical staff at the race bases with non-invasive, high-impact preventive interventions
This project is the result of years of experience and offers a unique opportunity for healthcare professionals to operate in a high-level international sports context.
Course Program and Operational Activities
ONLINE: In the month prior to the LUT, there will be 3 online sessions of 2 hours each, focusing on the main applications of NeuroMuscular Taping to be used during race days in Cortina. Each session is organized by anatomical region, with a focus on the specific sport context: Lower limbs, Trunk, Scapulohumeral girdle
Day 1 – Thursday, June 26, 2025 10:00 – 18:00 | Preparation Phase
- Participant arrival, logistical and operational briefing
- Team and materials presentation, work zone assignment
- Muscular and joint assessment of athletes
- Application of NeuroMuscular Taping and skill development
- Fascial neurostimulation techniques to enhance performance
Day 2 – Friday, June 27, 2025 10:00 – 22:00 | Pre-Race Phase
- Muscular and joint assessment of athletes

- Official operation area provided by the event organisers
Day 3 – Saturday, June 28, 2025

Participation Prerequisites
The project is reserved for healthcare professionals who meet the following criteria:
- Degree in medicine, physiotherapy, manual therapy, osteopathy, or exercise science
- International Basic Certification in NeuroMuscular Taping (NMT®) is the minimum requirement.

- Available spots are a maximum 5 participants
- Cost is free for both the professional and the assisted athlete
